Johannesburg (South Africa) - The official weigh-in for EFC 36 played out to a tension filled crowd at the Coca-Cola Dome this afternoon. The room was crammed with Johannesburg's biggest MMA fans anticipating an action packed final EFC event for the year.

The event is headlined by the EFC featherweight title fight between the dominant champion Boyd Allen, and the explosive challenger Wade 'Warrior' Groth. The partisan crowd erupted with chants for Allen and his team when he stepped up on the scale and the two athletes faced-off. The challenger showed no reaction to the intimidating crowd.

"You can expect me to perform tomorrow night," Allen stated in his interview. "We have been working all year for this and I will show what I have been training and preparing to do."

Featuring on the main card is the anticipated welterweight clash between the former welterweight champion Dino 'The Lion' Bagattin and loud-mouthed Gordon 'Rage' Roodman. This bout will see the tenacious Roodman test himself against the highly technical boxing of Bagattin. This will be Bagattin's first time back in the Hexagon since losing to Henry Fadipe.

Also on the main card, wrestling sensation Igeu 'Smiley' Kabesa faced off against Johannesburg native Barend 'BB Gun' Nienaber at lightweight. This will be Nienaber's return since losing his title shot against Kabesa's teammate Boyd Allen and is looking for retribution.

Nkazimulu 'Zulu Boy' Zulu and Francois 'Franaconda' Groenewald will make history as the first EFC flyweights to compete in the Hexagon. Both athletes looked highly excited in anticipation of their assault on EFC's newest division.

Six athletes initially failed to make weight. Zulu and Bagattin completed the weight cut within the allocated time period of two hours. Seabi, Buthelezi, Sebeko and Groenewald did not make their respective weights and have been fined.
