MATCHMAKER’S LETTER

Cape Town, South Africa – It's great to be in the mother City, and it’s especially great with the massive card that we have lined up tonight!

We are proud to introduce the new athletes and talent that are making their debut.

First up we have Armand Scheepers. This Super talent from cape Town is a new breed of MMA athlete but one that has a daunting mountain to climb, his opponent Regis Muyambu is highly experienced and has faced the best of the best. Next, making his first EFC appearance is the highly rated Chad Hanekom who has gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge training alongside the champ Norman Wessels. This makes for an exciting matchup considering that he is going up against Chris Du Pont, an aggressive brawler and one of his teammates former foes. In the spotlight of the main card, making a momentous debut, we see Mark Vlieger, the kick boxing specialist all the way from Belgium enter the biggest fight of his career against South Africa’s hardest hitting light heavyweight, Thumelo ’The Truck’ Maphutha. Good luck guys, we can’t wait to see you all for the first time in the EFC Hexagon.

A fight that fans really should be watching closely is the fight between division leaders Matt Buirski and Danny Henry. This featherweight bout has a lot on the line for both the South African and the Scotsman. The winner of this bout will be the next to challenge the current champion Boyd Allen.

What’s there to say about Dave Mazany other than why did we ever let him go in the first place. Unable to claim EFC gold when he beat the champ in 2009, the American showman is back and is hitting EFC with vengeance and is determined to claim what should have been his before. Good luck Mazany, but first you have a ‘Monster' in your way, and one with as big an ambition as yours in mind. Mdoko vs. Mazany is going to be huge!

A lot has been said between the headliners and their trainers. When the door shuts the craziness and intensity of a devastating Chef will collide with the power and conviction of a very ferocious Dalcha. Who will leave with the official title of ‘The Champion’... let’s see.
Enjoy the awesome night of fights ahead!

EFC 42: Wessels vs. Dalcha, presented by BetXchange.com, and takes place at GrandWest, Cape Town, on Saturday 08 August 2015. Tickets on sale at www.computicket.com.
