A FESTERING WOUND
Norman Wessels expresses his dislike for his opponent’s coach
14 July 2015
Cape Town, South Africa – After EFC 41, a press conference was held with the headline athletes and coaches for next month’s EFC 42: Wessels vs. Dalcha at GrandWest in Cape Town. Media set about asking the light heavyweight champion Norman Wessels and challenger Champion Dalcha questions about their upcoming bout. With coaches Quentin Chong and Richie Quan on stage answering questions too, things began to heat up and the teams’ rivalry surfaced quickly.
The video of the press conference will be released soon, but earlier this morning Wessels posted a photo of himself from the press conference captioned:
“At this moment I realized I can no longer avoid what Chong represents. I don’t like what he is or who he is as a person. It feels like a festering wound or a rotten stench on my skin. But I also realized that it is not about him and he feeds Dalcha’s lust for the belt. Dalcha is merely a vessel I need to burn to drown Chong so my sharks can feed.”
Cape Town is drawing close, with one of the biggest fight cards of the year already planned, featuring a host of big names such as Matt Buirski vs. Danny Henry, Sibusiso Mdoko vs. Dave Mazany, Tumelo Maphutha vs. Marc Vlieger on the main card, with one more massive fight to be announced soon.
