Regis Muyambo scheduled to face Armand Scheepers at GrandWest on Saturday 8 August

24 July 2015

Cape Town, South Africa – The last time fans saw Regis Muyambo in action, he had just stepped in as a replacement to face the former lightweight champion Don ‘Magic Man’ Madge. While he was not successful in victory in that bout, he put on a valiant performance and gained valuable experience.

Muyambo is now ready to face a new opponent, one where his professional experience could give him a distinct advantage over. Meet Armand ‘Lil Wanderlei’ Scheepers, the man ready to make a big entrance.

Scheepers fights out of ‘REPS Fitness’ in Cape Town, under the tutelage of South African MMA legend Rico Hattingh, he is a multiple amateur champion. He trains alongside former light heavyweight champion Gideon Drotschie and Luke Michael amongst a host of other talented athletes. As with many of his training partner’s, Scheepers is known for his prowess on the ground and submission skills.

Muyambo, who is now the favorite, is in a role reversal from his previous bout. He trains out of rival gym ‘Panther Fighting Arts’ in Cape Town and should be supremely confident as he is finally going into a fight not as the underdog.

Watch this, and all the other prelim bouts live at GrandWest on Saturday 8 August ahead of the massive main card bout line-up.
