Johannesburg, South Africa - EFC 41 at Carnival City fight card is filling up fast, with the recent addition of two heavyweight veterans set to face-off with each other for the first time in the Hexagon. Danie ‘The Pitbull’ van Heerden squares-off with Bernardo ‘The Black Panther’ Mikixi when former contenders collide. Van Heerden is coming off a spectacular first round knockout victory. Now he is looking for resurgence in his career, a return to title contention. A former light heavyweight title contender, van Heerden has been competing in EFC since the organisation’s first event. Known for his dogged fighting style and never taking a step back, van Heerden’s bouts are have always excited fans whether they end quickly or duked out to a judge’s decision. His opponent Mikixi is often referred to as ‘The Angolan Wrecking Machine’ for a justified reason. He swings his hands with the power of wrecking ball, when he puts opponents on their backs. An intimidatingly intense man, all but one of his victories have come from his vicious hammer fists while ground and pounding his opponents. This will be his first bout since competing at light heavyweight and is bringing his electrifying style back with even more power to the Hexagon, in search of a crowd applauding finish.
