EFC WORLDWIDE - Extreme Fighting Championship - TEXIER KABESA INJURED, PIETIE COXEN STEPS IN

Johannesburg, South Africa - Announced via Twitter, yesterday in the late afternoon, Texier Kabesa had withdrawn from his EFC 40 bout against Gorilla and will be replaced by Pietie ‘Thunder’ Coxen. With the late replacement bout, Coxen and Gorilla will now meet at welterweight.

Kabesa’s manager Grant Oliff stated yesterday, “Tex popped his shoulder during a training session this morning. It looks like a dislocated shoulder and we are waiting for the X-Rays to confirm.”

Coxen has been busy in the gym training and preparing for such an opportunity. He holds a ‘Knockout of the Night’ bonus for his spectacular TKO over Steven Momah. Eager to get back to winning ways and show his improvement as mixed martial artists, Coxen jumped at the opportunity to get back in the Hexagon.

Watch this exciting prelim bout, plus 6 others and the entire main card exclusively live at Carnival City or from Ster-Kinekor theatres across South Africa.

EFC 40: Bagattin vs. du Plessis, presented by BetXchange.com, and takes place at Carnival City, Johannesburg, on Saturday 6 June 2015. Tickets on sale at www.computicket.com. Book your cinema ticket to all fights live and in state of the art digital projection at www.sterkinekor.com.
