KABESA VS BOTHA CONFIRMED FOR DECEMBER AT CARNIVAL CITY

Johannesburg, South Africa – EFC returns to fan favorite Carnival City for the final event of 2016. Set to take place on 9 December the undefeated champion Igeu ‘Smiley’ Kabesa will defend his championship for the first time when he faces the challenger Hanru ‘The Bully’ Botha.

Kabesa faces a new challenge, one he has never faced before in EFC and MMA. Polokwane’s featherweight contender, looks to make his claim for EFC gold for the first time. He too is a multiple-time wrestling champion, having represented South Africa in international competition and has run a similar path to MMA success as Kabesa. Added to his wrestling prowess, Botha has exceptional KO power and has delivered some of the biggest knockouts ever seen inside the Hexagon.

The bout between the two wrestling sensations was originally scheduled to take place at EFC 51, but Kabesa suffered a knock to the head in sparring that caused a concussion, the injury forced the postponement of the much anticipated fight. In the time since the injury, Kabesa has parted ways with his old camp, FFM, that he captured the EFC gold with.

While Kabesa is keeping his lips sealed on his new training camp, he is running wrestling for MMA seminars around Johannesburg. A 14-time national wrestling champion, Kabesa has displayed his phenomenal skills in everyone one of his bouts inside of the EFC Hexagon. Fans now have the opportunity to meet and learn from Kabesa this Sunday at Katz MMA.

EFC 56: Kabesa vs Botha is presented by SUPABETS, and takes place on Friday 9 December 2016 at Carnival City, Johannesburg.
