Flyweight title unification between Zulu and Buys rescheduled to EFC 59

Johannesburg, South Africa - It was announced yesterday that flyweight champion Nkazimulo ‘Zuluboy’ Zulu was involved in a car accident and had withdrawn from his scheduled title fight against JP Buys on 4 March.

Zulu was running in Alberton in preparation for his fight with Buys when he was accidently struck by a car. He was rushed to Bertha Gxowa Hospital and it was discovered by X-Ray that he did not have any broken bones from the accident. Once released, he was referred to world renowned Dr. Evan Speechly for MRI and diagnoses. Its been diagnosed that he is suffering from heavy bruising and swelling. He is expected to be out of action for a few weeks.

"I was doing my morning running, like I always do," explained Zulu. "When I got to the light it was green for me so I continued running and then I saw the car out of the corner of my eye. So, I manage to jump a bit and got hit on my knee and hip and hit the windscreen. Now I am on crutches and in a brace.

Zulu will have a checkup next week Wednesday to be cleared.

"This is devastating news," stated EFC President Cairo Howarth. "While it is a serious injury, we are thankful it was nothing life threatening. We wish Zulu a speedy recovery to full health."

Zulu and Buys will now face each other to unify the EFC flyweight championship on Saturday 13 May at Carnival City.
