Cape, South Africa - Today’s EFC 63 weigh-in put match to a pile of petrol soaked kindling at the GrandWest Casino today. The USA’s Dave Mazany takes on Zimbabwe’s Themba Gorimbo in the main event, and he had the crowd on their feet, baying for the fight.

Although based in Las Vegas, Mazany has made the Mother City his home and his fans let Gorimbo know it, greeting the international with deafening cheers and returning his trademark ‘Iron Claw’ salute.

Gorimbo, a man who began his MMA career in Cape Town, was not impressed. ‘He’s a showman,’ he told the crowd. “I’m real.”

Their face-off was intense with Gorimbo threatening to charge a grinning ‘Pain Train’, who simply offered his signature professional wrestling ‘Iron Claw’ instead.

Both men made their catchweight mark.

Brazil’s José Da Rocha enters the EFC Hexagon for the second time, facing South African Cameron Pritchard tomorrow night. Pritchard is up for a title shot if he takes the win, and the intent from both was real.

The legendary Dino ‘The Lion’ Bagattin finally gets his chance at Cape Town’s Bruno Mukulu, who has been baiting the former champion relentlessly in the build-up. EFC president Cairo Howarth had to step between them at their face-off.

Former light heavyweight champion, Cape Town’s ‘Juggernaut’ Gideon Drotschie, returns after a near two-year layoff, and his home town crowd greeted him with a roar. He faces the dangerous Warren Allison.

Cape Town’s Shaun De Lange was not medically cleared to compete, and has been replaced by Cape Town’s Wayde Sage, who goes up against Johannesburg’s Conrad Seabi.

Regis Muyambo also suffered a medical complication, and his bout hangs in the balance. A decision will be taken later this evening.
